"The basic feeling of this, and four other green ships I've done can be expressed only as "It is." There is something, to me, that cannot be subtracted from green, it doesn't overwhelm like red, or decorate like yellow, or suggest like blue. In my mind, it is, and maintains the potential for longevity. Maybe this is a contradiction for a ship that was later sunk, but somehow maybe that has lent to memory what so many others have not had?"
