Garde Rail Gallery closed in Seattle, reopening in Austin!

After relocating the gallery around a few different neighborhoods in Seattle, we’ve been no strangers to moving. This time however, WE’RE REALLY MOVING.

Garde Rail is now calling Austin, TX "home"!

As of September 2009, we will be residing in Austin, getting settled, and looking for a new (air conditioned!) space. We will reopen in our new space as soon as we are able.

It’s been eleven years since Garde Rail Gallery joined the Seattle, and the broader Northwest art scene. After countless exhibitions, favorable and abundant press, as well as a profoundly memorable exhibition at Bumbershoot in 2001, the time has completely flown by. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with the Tacoma Art Museum, Whatcom Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Boise Art Museum, Frye Art Museum, Microsoft and the Microsoft Collection, the Safeco Collection, the Swedish Collection, the Seattle Channel, Evening magazine, and even a few Stranger covers!

We’ve enjoyed a charmed experience here in the Northwest and have been recognized and appreciated on so many levels. Our successes at home helped us to gain recognition across the country and become important contributors from our region. Showings at the Outsider Art Fair in NYC, Folk Fest in Atlanta, Intuit in Chicago, and work with the Museum of American Folk Art, American Visionary Art Museum, and countless publications and journals across the country.

Most important of all, we are so grateful for the patronage, support and friendships of our clients over the years! We will miss seeing you in our space in Pioneer Square and encourage you to break for the sun on that new non-stop flight to Austin!!

Thank you for the memories Seattle.

Garde Rail Gallery is OPEN online. If you see anything you love or have questions about, please send us an email.

Please know that we’ll maintain our communication via e-mail throughout the move and that we look forward to hearing from you as usual. We’ll post an update on our new location and contact information as soon as we have some news. You can also become a friend on Facebook where we will post the latest breaking news.

See you in the SUN!

Best,
Karen and Marcus
